About Ramya Ramamurthy

Ramya Ramamurthy is a Yoga Instructor based in Bangalore, India. She was drawn to yoga since she was a young child. Once she started to practice Yoga regularly, she realised the profound impact it had on her, both physically and mentally and how it transformed her own life. This drew her to learn and understand more about yoga. Ramya was always drawn to teaching and this had led her to set up a non-profit organisation Bridgin to impart education to children in shelter homes and orphanages prior to her starting to teach yoga. As she learned and understood Yoga and it’s philosophy better, she was also determined to help, empower and transform others by teaching yoga. She is an Internationally Certified Yoga Teacher and has students base around the world, specially in USA, Europe and Asia. Ever since she began teaching yoga, she has taught and conducted in-person and online live yoga classes, yoga workshops, online Yoga programs and yoga retreats reaching out to more than 10,000 people. She specializes in teaching Hata Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pre-natal Yoga, Prananyama and Meditation. Her biggest asset in teaching Yoga is her ability to breakdown ‘Yogasanas, Pranayama and Meditation’ practices in simple and clear manner, so that it can be accessible to all the students who practice with her, no matter at which level of practice they are at. For Ramya, clearly yoga is not just about physical practice and so she focuses deeply on connecting with breath and inner self through movements and stillness. Her mission is to inspire her students by sharing her knowledge and practice which will allow them to transform themselves. Through her yoga classes, workshops, programs, retreats and this website, Ramya wants to make the holistic knowledge of yoga and its practices accessible to everyone. Her teachings will include a combination of. strength-based, mobility, flexibility, breathing practices, mindfulness practices and mind-body relaxation to allow one to experience the holistic benefits of yoga and its practices- not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.

Why Yogasta

Yogasta was born from Ramya’s dream to share yoga and its holistic well-being practices to everyone, as she truly believes that yoga is for everyone and as such yoga never differentiates anyone, if the efforts put by one is honest. Through Yogasta, Ramya wants to make sure that everyone gets access to a regular yoga practice and most importantly practice yoga the right way. Through Yogasta, one will experience the holistic benefits of Yogasta, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.

Yogasta Philosophy

Yoga at “YOGASTA” will be a combination of strength-based, mobility, flexibility, balance, breathing practices, mindfulness practices and mind-body relaxation to allow one to experience the holistic benefits of yoga and its practices- not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. The practices offered at this moment are suitable from beginners to advanced level practitioners. Each practice session at Yogasta is thoughtfully planned with sequences to focus on full body+mind+breath and/or also targeting specific areas/muscles, ensuring one feels stronger towards the end of the practice and at the same time feels refreshed and relaxed.
